I left the following in Mark Shea's comment box, that should anyone come across it, it will probably generate heat. But I can't be sure of that, since that blog entry is almost 24 hours old (ohmygosh! it's stale!). The entry follows:
"No one here wants to legislate homosexuality as crime."
Gene, that's not true. I'm sure I'll alienate the libertarian sensibilities of over 90% of those who read and post here at Chez Mark, but I would favor legislation against homosexuality.
In an age where political correctness rules, I should be careful. I am talking about the second definition of homosexuality given at m-w.com: "erotic activity with another of the same sex." That is, simply, I would support laws against sodomy.
I would also support laws against adultry, contraception (including late term contraception, also known as abortion), prostitution, and fornication. And in case I haven't offended every libertarian sensibility here, I'll throw in pornography as well.
I sure that's all quixotic to many of you, but I don't see that it's in opposition to the principle and ideals of the founding fathers of this country.
